I am writing this email to let you all know that I am engaged!!! Last night Cory proposed to me! Since I am sure you all are wondering how…I will tell you. Last year when we were just friends, Cory would always joke about being my boyfriend, but I would always just laugh at his cute jokes and tell him that I didn’t believe in long distance relationships anymore. Then one day he sent me an email that said, “So here's the plan; I'm going to post my list of reasons why you should not let the long distanceness hold you back from being my girlfriend and then when you say, ‘You're right, Cory! I guess the long distanceness isn't too bad.’ I will ask you to be my girlfriend.” So when he came to visit me for the first time in Kansas City, I left a note on his pillow that stated our “code phrase” and that night (exactly one year from last night), Cory asked me to be his girlfriend. Last night Cory left me a note on my pillow. When I found it I opened it and read it, and then Cory walked up next to me and bent down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!!! It was so exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I said yes, and now I have this beautiful, sparkly ring on my finger that Cory picked out all by himself!!! So that is the story of us.

Everyone at work made a banner that they taped to my desk on my first day of work that said, "Welcome to the zoo!" It is signed by everyone, and it has a lot of funny comments on it. One of them is, "Watch out for flying monkey debris after 4pm (and all day on Friday)."

That said, I somehow ended up with something brown on the front of my khaki pants today. I was just grateful that it was on the front of my pants and not the back. As I stood in the office showing everyone, I said "Great! Not only do I feel old because I am tired on Friday nights after a busy week at work, but now it looks like I crap my pants too!"
